Scabies Rash

Scabies rash is an infection caused by a parasite known as Sarcoptes scabiei that has affected mankind for centuries.

Sometimes this is difficult to diagnose infection and leads to a severe generalized pruritus or itching.

This infection is frequent, made by epidermis and there are geographic areas where infection is endemic, it is estimated that over 300 million cases of scabies in the world each year.

This infection can affect anyone, regardless of age, race or personal hygiene.

The causative agent of this infection is a parasite called Sarcoptes scabiei that measures 0.4 mm, making it barely visible to the naked eye, is composed of a head and a round body, which were 8 feet. Sarcoptes produces a groove or tunnel in the skin surface, which triggers an allergic reaction. The itching is most intense at night, which sometimes makes it impossible to sleep.

Scabies Rash This infection is usually acquired from another infected person with which one has established close contacts may be from a child, a friend or family member. Occasional contacts as shaking hands or hug do not spread scabies rash.

The female parasite in its movement on the skin surface produces a groove in which is deposited eggs, feces and secretions that are responsible for the allergic reaction that causes itching. The larvae contained in the eggs laid will grow to adult worms develop. It may take a month after the infection until the patient feels they are infected.
